Course Overview
Install and Maintain Low Voltage Underground Services – Level 2 ASP
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to install, maintain, alter, and repair low voltage underground electrical services and to operate plant and equipment in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, industry standards, and Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP) requirements.
The training covers the planning and preparation of work, identification of hazards, implementation of risk control measures, and the safe execution of work activities near live electrical assets. It includes the application of electrical safety rules, safe approach distances, exclusion zones, permit systems, and emergency response procedures relevant to Level 2 Authorised Service Provider (ASP) work.
Participants will be trained and assessed in undertaking underground service work using approved methods, materials, tools, and equipment, while maintaining the safety of personnel, the public, and existing network infrastructure. All work activities are completed in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements, environmental obligations, and DNSP network standards.
Practical assessment activities are conducted in conditions that reflect real workplace and network environments, including the operation of plant and equipment near live electrical apparatus.
