What training do I need to work on the Endeavour Energy network?

The training you need depends on the type of work you will be performing and the Endeavour Energy authorisation function you require.

Workers operating on or near the Endeavour Energy network must be appropriately authorised for the tasks they perform. This generally involves completing the required training for the relevant authorisation function, providing evidence of your qualifications and training, and having your employer confirm your competency.

Endeavour Energy's Authorisations Manual sets out the specific training, qualification, experience and competency requirements for each authorisation function.

Do I need to complete the Endeavour Energy Electrical Safety Rules?

Yes. Endeavour Energy requires workers who are authorised to work on or near its network to complete training in the Endeavour Energy Electrical Safety Rules.

Electrical Safety Rules training is also an ongoing requirement, with annual training required to maintain authorisation. Additional training and competency requirements may apply depending on the authorisation function and work being performed.

What is the difference between ESR Initial and ESR Refresher training?

ESR Initial is intended for new workers who have not previously completed the Endeavour Energy Electrical Safety Rules training. Endeavour Energy currently delivers the initial Electrical Safety Rules training for new workers.

ESR Refresher is for workers who have previously completed the required Electrical Safety Rules training and need to maintain their currency. Endeavour Energy requires Electrical Safety Rules training to be refreshed annually as part of maintaining network authorisation.

Can I complete my Endeavour Energy ESR Refresher with Pipeline Training?

Yes. Pipeline Training Australia is an Endeavour Energy accredited Registered Training Organisation for the delivery of ESR Refresher training.

Endeavour Energy lists Pipeline Training Australia as an accredited external training provider for ESR Refresher training.

Participants who successfully complete the required training receive the appropriate training evidence for submission as part of the Endeavour Energy authorisation process.

What training is required for Substation Entry or to Hold Access Authorities?

The requirements depend on the type of access or authority you need.

Substation Entry Training is required for authorised workers who require unsupervised access to Endeavour Energy substations. Endeavour Energy's authorisation requirements can also include prerequisites and ongoing training such as Electrical Safety Rules, CPR and relevant rescue/first-aid competencies, depending on the particular Substation Entry authorisation being sought.

Access Authority Training is required for authorised workers who need to hold an Endeavour Energy Access Authority. The precise prerequisites and competency requirements depend on the authorisation function being sought.

How do I become authorised to work on the Endeavour Energy network?

I'm a new ASP. How do I register?

Before individuals can be authorised, the ASP company must hold current accreditation under the NSW Accredited Service Provider Scheme and be registered with Endeavour Energy.

If your company is newly accredited and wants to work on the Endeavour Energy network, you need to submit your ASP details to Endeavour Energy so your company can be established in its authorisation system. Individual workers must also be appropriately registered under the ASP Scheme for the work they will perform.

Endeavour Energy provides an online registration process specifically for new ASPs.

What is Beakon?

Registered ASPs use Beakon to manage their company and worker authorisation information, including adding authorised persons, uploading qualifications and training records, submitting authorisations for approval, managing renewals and accessing authorisation records.

How do I get a Beakon login?

If you are a new ASP, complete Endeavour Energy's new ASP registration process. Endeavour Energy's Authorisations team will establish your ASP profile and arrange access to the Beakon Self-Serve Authorisations system.

If your organisation is already registered with Endeavour Energy but you need assistance with Beakon access, contact the Authorisations team at [email protected].

Does completing training automatically give me Endeavour Energy authorisation?

No. Completing the required training is an important part of the authorisation process, but completing a course does not by itself authorise you to work on the Endeavour Energy network.

Endeavour Energy's authorisation process considers both training and competency. Evidence of your qualifications and training must be submitted together with the required employer endorsement or confirmation of competency. Endeavour Energy assesses the information and grants the applicable network authorisation once all requirements have been met.

Are there fees associated with Endeavour Energy authorisation?

Yes. Authorisation fees apply to ASP authorisation submissions.

Endeavour Energy's Authorisations Manual states that an Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved authorisation fee applies to new applications and renewal submissions. The fees include GST and may change from 1 July each year in accordance with the AER determination.
