Course Outline

This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in civil construction, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. The qualification applies to a specialist occupation in Pipe Laying. The individual may provide theoretical advice and support a team.


Packaging Rules



Successful completion of twenty five (25) units of competency made up of:
- Seven (7) core units, and
- Eighteen (18) elective units of which:

• Ten (10) must be chosen from group E
• At least three (3) must be chosen from Group F and/or Group Q
• At least one (1) must be chosen from Group G
• Up to four (4) may be chosen from Certificate II, Certificate III or Certificate IV level
Units chosen must be relevant to the job function.

Upon satisfactory completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RII30913 Certificate III in Civil Construction Pipe Laying full qualification from the Resource and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

*Eligible trainees and apprentices will have their qualification funded by the Department of Education, Training and Employment under User Choice arrangements. Student contribution fees apply at $1.60 per nominal hour for each unit of competency/module. Exemptions may apply.
